Hello everyone!
Just got back from a visit to Buras and thought of you all. The Y is a ghostly place now, very sad to see it all emptied out. Some changes have been made in Plaquemines, but progress is still slow-going.
I'm living in Philadelphia now, teaching preschool and enjoying life very much... possibly going to get my fill of volunteering for a month at Black Mesa in Arizona-- a really interesting place... look it up on google to read more...
Oh, my friend Meghan is starting a gleaning project through an anti-hunger organization her in Philly
and I told her about Kathy's wealth of knowledge.
She would love any resources, documents, discussion that you could offer. Her email address is:
twostorylimetree@hotmail.com
That's all for now-- Keep in touch!

I've read the entire Shaara trilogy series on the Civil War and I just want to say that if you want a feel of the civil war and want to learn all the important battles and people, then read these books - you won't be disappointed! They are also very exciting. And if you like Killer Angels then you will like the movie Gettysburg, they go together.

Hi Miles and family, I'm Ray, my son Joe worked on the computers at the Buras EC site.

I see you are getting closer to my neck of the woods, SE PA. When you get close let me know and I hope we can get together. Some of the places you might want to visit here would be the Amish area of Lancaster, some of the early industrial museums (Hopewell Village, an early iron furnace for one), and what's left of the local canals.

Send me an email and I'll respond with my phone@ etc.

Sarah, I love it when you post - you are a VERY talented writer. Spring has come to the Pacific Northwest; everything is in bloom here, and we are getting some lovely days.
Looking forward to reading more posts, especially about Washington DC.
OH - I LOVE that you are uploading video to YouTube - the one on the dunes was fun to watch! Caleb, you sure got a good head of steam running back up the dune - then you sort of came to a halt. I would not have done half as well trying to do that.
Hugs to you all; Sharon

Good to see the updates coming again! Was beginning to think the computers onboard had crashed. Hoping all aboard are well, and that you find lots of things to do 'down south' while waiting for winter to break in the Northeast! You are missing one heck of a good ski season.
Best to all.

Kathy & Miles -

Looked at your forestland yesterday. I would characterize the overall damage as "light" with the worst of it coincidentally being where everyone can see it... near the mailboxes. Some scattered breakage and blowdown in the interior, but from my walk through it looked like fewer than 100 trees overall were impacted.

Glad you are having a great trip!
