Just got back from a visit to Buras and thought of you all. The Y is a ghostly place now, very sad to see it all emptied out. Some changes have been made in Plaquemines, but progress is still slow-going. I'm living in Philadelphia now, teaching preschool and enjoying life very much... possibly going to get my fill of volunteering for a month at Black Mesa in Arizona-- a really interesting place... look it up on google to read more... Oh, my friend Meghan is starting a gleaning project through an anti-hunger organization her in Philly and I told her about Kathy's wealth of knowledge. They are also very exciting. And if you like Killer Angels then you will like the movie Gettysburg, they go together. Some of the places you might want to visit here would be the Amish area of Lancaster, some of the early industrial museums (Hopewell Village, an early iron furnace for one), and what's left of the local canals. Spring has come to the Pacific Northwest; everything is in bloom here, and we are getting some lovely days. Looking forward to reading more posts, especially about Washington DC.
